A Cavan trucker taking part in a so-called Freedom Convoy in Canada has dismissed reports of violence.
Bailieborough native Tommy Rogers has been living and working in Canada since 2011 as a truck driver and is part of the ongoing 100,000 strong truck protest in Ottawa.
Canada’s capital city has been brought to a standstill because of opposition to a vaccine mandate for hauliers crossing the border to and from the US.
Demonstrators have pledged to stay as long as it takes for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to reverse the measure that currently sees unvaccinated drivers have to quarantine when they return from each job.
Tommy told Northern Sound News that residents of Ottawa have been very supportive.
