Approval was granted by the County Council.

Peter McVitty raised the issue of a lack of accessible spaces near the Connolly Street Primary Care Centre in the town.

It would allow the street be used for outdoor dining and other activities.

Councillors said there was a need for more open space and to provide residential amenities.

It will go to public consultation for a period of ten weeks.

Close contact services, like hairdressers and beauty salons, are opening for the first time this year.

The surveys are ongoing ahead of further works.

Around 250 people work there.
