Alternative car parking will be available at the Main Street Carpark or the Multi Storey Carpark.

Cllr Smith believes the project will create "further space" for the people of Cavan.

County planners will decide on this application by mid-August.

The case is due to be decided by the 23th of October.

The 100th park run at Con Smith Park will take place on the 26th of August next.

Works will begin from next week.

The closure that's now underway will remain in place until Friday, July 21st.
