The solidary action event will take place this Saturday in Cavan Town.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the assault and remains in a critical condition.

He is being treated in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin

The incident occurred on St. Valentine’s night just before 12 a.m.

It's understood the fire started outside the front door of the Cavan Town house.

The driver was charged to court in Dublin on Saturday and faced being disqualified from driving for four years because of their decision not to provide a sample as per the law.
