Leo Varadkar has been accused of hiding from questions about his attendance at a function hosted by former Minister Katherine Zappone.
The Tánaiste said in a statement he doesn't believe the event for 50 people at the Merrion Hotel breached Covid guidelines.
Those guidelines are currently being redrawn to take account of advice from the Attorney General allowing outdoor events of up to 200 people.

Yesterday, the former minister said she won't take the job, after the manner of her appointment was criticised.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin previously said he had not been made aware of the move prior to a Cabinet meeting last month.
Local TD Brendan Smith criticised the move, but wouldn't be drawn on what repercussions those responsible should face.
