A Cavan taxi driver was fined for failing to give a proper receipt for a journey.
This was one of just two complaints made about taxi operators in Cavan and Monaghan in 2021.
The details of complaints were released to Northern Sound News under the Freedom of Information Act.
In November of last year, a passenger travelling in Cavan asked the driver for a receipt and was given a hand-written one.
The passenger complaints to the National Transport Authority, and an NTA investigation issued the driver a fine for failing to issue a receipt as requested.
The other complaint was in Monaghan, where a passenger complained that they were charged €20 for a trip that they were used to paying €11 for with a different driver.
No investigation was carried out into this, as the complainant couldn't identify the driver and didn't respond when the NTA asked them to provide more information.
There were no complaints lodged against taxi drivers in Cavan and Monaghan in the first six months of 2022.
