Young people across Cavan and Monaghan are calling on elected representatives to increase funding for youth work services ahead of Budget 2025. The National Youth Council of Ireland recently held a special event bringing young people face to face with members of the Oireachtas to discuss funding for youth services.
Aoibhe Beatty from Co Cavan represents the Cavan-Monaghan constituency. Speaking to Northern Sound, the Mullahoran native says there's "so much" important work happening in across the local area to support young people.
Aoibhe wants to make sure that local representatives across Cavan/Monaghan carry that message to the national level, so that youth work locally and beyond gets its fair share come budget time.
