A Cavan student has been named Ulster champion in a farm safety competition.
Ben Lynch is a 6th Class student at Mullahoran National School and was voted Agri Aware's Farm Safe Schools champion for the province.
Ben was nominated by his teachers, and programme co-ordinator Alma Jordan said his entry was "truly inspiring", and said he educated his class and teachers on the process of raising chickens, cattle and sheep on his family farm.
The Farm Safe Schools is a collaboration between Agri Aware, AgriKids, and the IFA and is supported by the Department of Agriculture.
As a reward for winning the Ulster section, Ben was awarded a certificate of achievement and a family pass to Dublin Zoo.
