A Cavan Leaving Cert student says there's a fear his school could be subject to "profiling" through predicted grades.
Currently, factors such as school location, previous exam results and gender could be used to influence a student's points.
A similar system was used in Scotland, which saw the grades of some students in poorer areas downgraded from the teacher's estimate.
The Scottish Education Minister John Swinney today said all downgraded exam results are to be restored following the controversy.
Labour's education spokesman, Aodhan Ó Ríordáin, said it's not too late to change the Irish model.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound, Conor Smith from Breifne College said there could be similar issues when Leaving Cert results are released in September.
You can listen to the full interview with Conor, which took place before the announcement in Scotland, here.
