Cavan SPCA to benefit from additional €43,075 of government funding

Over €360,000 has been allocated to local animal welfare organisations as part of a multi-million euro government fund.

The grants are awarded by the Department of Agriculture - an additional €43,075 has been awarded to Cavan SPCA.

While no funding was allocated to Co Monaghan, Longford based charity, Hungry Horse Outside received the highest regional allocation, with €140,250 ring fenced for the organisation.

Longford SPCA are also set to benefit from €5,000 euro in funding.

Minister for Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue announced funding of more than €5.8 million to 99 animal welfare charities nationwide - an increase of more than €2 million on last year.
