Cavan Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is leading tributes this morning following the death of its "much loved and dedicated" volunteer, Kathleen Shannon Naughan.
A resident of Belutrbet, Kathleen is being described as "one of kind" who was kind hearted and did so much to help Cavan SPCA carry out its role.
The Charity says she took dogs for walks, brought strays to her home, fundraised, and worked in the shop in Cavan town.
Cavan SPCA says the lost and abandoned animals in and around Belturbet were "blessed" to have Kathleen in their lives.
Kathleen Shanley is survived by her daughters Claire and Grace; sons, Francis and Paul; grandchildren, sons in law, daughter-in-law, neighbours, and her many friends.
