A Cavan snail farmer says the sector is growing year-on-year and can provide a low-risk, additional income for farmers.
Peter Monaghan came across snail farming in 2015 and noticed a gap in the market.
He's producing 1.4 million native Irish Hélix Aspersa Muller snails a year, which amounts to around 10 tonnes.
It's one of the most popular species on the market and Peter sells them wholesale to countries like Greece.
