Employment growth increased 5% in the North East in 2021 for companies supported by Enterprise Ireland.
It was a year of record jobs growth for EI companies connected to markets all over the world.
Growth was highest in Co Cavan outside of Dublin and Marcella Rudden from Cavan Local Enterprise Office said it was down to the "resilience" of the business base in the county.
She spoke to Shannonside Northern Sound this week about the growth rate.
Ms Rudden pointed out that because LEOs work "on the ground" they have knowledge of businesses and of what is going on in the community.
Because of that, she added, the LEO is able to respond locally and the results in terms of job creation are testament to the "robust base" that is in Co Cavan.
