Cavan has recorded the fourth highest rent increase in the country in the last year.
That’s according to the latest report from DAFT.ie, which shows the cost of leasing a property in the county has risen by 18.3% over the past year.
While Cavan has seen the biggest hikes when it comes to rent increases, the cost of leasing a property is on the lower end of the scale at €1,012.
Monaghan rents have increased by 10.7% over the past year, where the costs average at €981, the fifth lowest nationally.
The average rent nationwide increased by 12.6% annually in the second quarter of the year, to €1,618 a month.
