"Problematic" water mains are set to be replaced in St. Phelim's Place in Cavan Town.
The works are due to commence in mid-June along the Kilnavara Lane, from Wolfe Tone Street junction and Kilnavara Heights junction via St Phelims
Place.
The project will involve the replacement of almost 360 metres of old cast iron water mains, with improved plastic pipes to strengthen the water
network.
Irish Water says the "immediate knock-on effect will see an improvement to water quality, as well as minimising disruptions to customers' water supply
by reducing leakage".
There will be some traffic management in place to facilitate the works, but local access will be maintained at all times.
The works may also involve some short-term water shut offs, and customers will be given a minimum of 48 hours' notice prior to any planned shut offs.
The works are due to be completed by the end of July.
