A Cavan primary school has won €10,000 in the Aldi Play Rugby sticker competition.
Schools had to collect Aldi Play Rugby stickers, with one sticker awarded to shoppers for every €30 spent in any Aldi store.
Gaelscoil Bhreifne, was one of 10 runners up in the competition and will now receive money towards sports equipment or facilities at the school.
This year there were over 1,000 entries (1093) with schools in Wexford and Wicklow claiming the top prize of €50,000, while Gaelscoil Bhreifne was the only school in the Shannonside Northern Sound region to claim a prize.
This is all part of a national IRFU programme for primary school children, where free, supervised and a non-contact rugby plan is given to schools to encourage children to get active, and participate in regular exercise.
