A Cavan priest has been cautioned after allowing people to gather while he celebrated mass.
On Sunday, local Gardai spoke to the Parish Priest for Mullahoran Fr PJ Hughes to remind him of the current public health restrictions.
Under Level Five restrictions, parishioners aren't allowed to attend mass celebrations in person, except for weddings and funerals.
Fr Hughes confirmed to Shannonside Northern Sound News that a small number of people had attended a mass, and he hit out at the "police state" which led to this situation.
It's understood the people turned up uninvited, but issue was taken when they weren't asked to leave.
