A newly appointed poet laureate for Cavan, says poetry is becoming more popular due to Covid.
Mairead Donnellan, was recently given the role by poetry Ireland for Bailieborough and is now tasked with writing a poem dedicated to the town and its history.
She says that there is rarely an occasion now where a poem is not recited and it can often fill a gap where conversation cannot.
