A Cavan man's photo, 'The Spire of Lloyd', has been selected to be showcased as part of an outdoor exhibition in the 2024 Reach for the Stars astrophotography competition run by the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies.
'The Spire of Lloyd', taken by Aaron Kelly from Ballyjamesduff, is a timelapse shot of the full moon rising behind the Spire of Lloyd in Kells, Co. Meath. Built in 1791, the Spire of Lloyd sits on top of the Hill of Lloyd and offers views as far away as the Mourne Mountains in Co. Down. Mr. Kelly's image will be on display at DIAS headquarters at 10 Burlington Road, Dublin. The 23 top-rated images from the competition will be displayed alongside Mr. Kelly's.
