A Cavan native was named runner-up in a prestigious astrophotography competition.
The 'Reach for the Stars' competition is run by the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies and aims to find the best astro-photographs taken in Ireland over the past year.
Aaron Kelly, from Ballyjamesduff, and Dara Callinan, from Virginia, were both shortlisted in the 'Out of this World' category.
It sought entries of images capturing distant objects not visible to the naked eye.
Aaron Kelly's entry, titled "The Heart Nebula", picked up the runner-up prize.
A free outdoor exhibition of the shortlisted images can be viewed online and will also be available to view in person from the 12th of August at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies' premises at 10 Burlington Road, Dublin.
