The Lotto player that struck it lucky in County Cavan over the weekend has collected their cheque for half a million euros.
The Cavan native is celebrating today after collecting the life changing amount earlier today from National Lottery headquarters today.
The lucky lotto quick pick ticket was sold in McMullan's Daybreak service station on Bridge Street in Cootehill for the Euromillions draw last Friday evening.
A spokesperson from the National Lottery confirmed to Northern Sound News that the winner didn't hang around with the ticket holder making contact with them on Saturday evening.
The Lotto player made their way to headquarters in Dublin City Centre today to officially claim their prize. They have vowed to share their prize with family, pay off their mortgage and other bills.
"Once the dust has settled on the win, they are planning a special family holiday in the sun to consider their life-changing win in the next couple of weeks," said the lotto spokesperson.
There was great excitement in the popular Cootehill shop and filling station over the last few days when news of the win broke and there has been much speculation about the identity of the lucky winner.
