The two Sinn Féin TDs had to wait until yesterday evening to confirm their election but, are heading to Dublin today to be part of government formation negotiations.

Deputy Carthy also said whether Sinn Féin get into government or take their seats in opposition he will happily do so under the leadership of Mary Lou McDonald.

The Taoiseach said his party still planned to run two candidates and there's been speculation there could even be three Fine Gael candidates in the region.
