County Leitrim has the fourth highest rate of Covid 19 in the country.
The government has published a list of rates of the virus per 100,000 of population in each county today, with both Monaghan and Longford featuring in the top ten.
Recording 16 new cases in the last 14 days, according to the data published today, the rate of Covid 19 in county Leitrim stands at almost 50 (49.9) per 100,000 of population.
Monaghan has the sixth highest rate at 44 cases per 100,000 with Longford at 41.6.
Monaghan has had 44 new cases in the last two weeks and the has been an increase of 17 in Longford.
Cavan and Roscommon feature further down on the list with the rates at 21 and 18.6 per 100,000 respectively.
The graphic in the full page notice published in all national newspapers today indicates that the trend of Covid 19 is rising in each of the five counties, and asks people to help stop the spread by limiting social contacts and other implementing public health advice measures.
