Students from three schools in Cavan and Monaghan have been shortlisted for the Young Social Innovators of the Year Awards.
Beech Hill College, Monaghan and Largy College Clones will represent Monaghan at the competition to take place in Dublin on May 9th. Coláiste Dun An Rí in Kingscourt will join the Monaghan schools for the event. The students will join finalists from 15 other counties who have reached the final of the prestigious awards for their social innovation projects
The pupils travelling to the Aviva Stadium from Coláiste Dun An Rí, Kingscourt have been shortlisted in the Planet Protectors Award category for their project, RUST, which, stands for Rubbish, Utilization, Sorting Technology. The pupils from Monaghan will bring their innovations called Poisa and Well Wise Warriors under the Sustainability of Our Planet and Brighter Futures Award categories.
