A Cavan-Monaghan project has scooped an award at this year's National Age Friendly Recognition and Achievement Awards ceremony. The event took place on Thursday the 30th of November.
An Garda Síochána in Cavan and Monaghan won the award in the Safety and Security category for the Older Persons' Wellbeing Events that took place locally. Both Cavan County Council and Monaghan County Council Age Friendly programmes assisted in the organisation of these events and part funded them. The National Age Friendly Recognition and Achievement Awards ceremony is an annual acknowledgement of the significant work that takes place across the country, recognising those whose efforts contribute to older people living better lives as they age.
