The latest figures from the Department of Health show Cavan recorded 12 new cases of covid-19 yesterday, while 11 new cases were recorded in Monaghan.
Cavan's 14-day incidence rate has risen sharply since last week, when it stood at 61.7 per 100,000 population.
As of yesterday, its 14-day incidence rate is 119.5 per 100,000.
Monaghan's 14-day incidence rate also saw a slight increase from last week, at 128.7 per 100,000 - up from 118.9.
Cavan and Monaghan are both above the national 14-day incidence rate, which is 84.7 per 100,000 population.
The Department was also notified of 8 additional covid-related deaths yesterday and recorded an additional 329 confirmed cases nationwide.
