Cavan Monaghan Minister, Heather Humphreys, has been returned to the Department of Social Protection and the Department of Rural and Community Development following Saturday's Government reshuffle.
Former Taoiseach Micheal Martin has moved to the Department of Foreign Affairs while Simon Coveney takes up the position of Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Minister Humphreys said she was "delighted" to be returned to both departments and pointed to the "unprecedented" investment that is currently taking place in rural Ireland.
Minister Humphreys highlighted how she wants to continue in that vein and is the only Minister that holds two portfolios in the coalition Government.
She added that the country needs stability and continuity and the Government's record on this over the past two and a half years is testament to that. "Stability and continuity is what this country needs.
"We have come through the pandemic - we have the best vaccination programme in the world; we have the strongest economic recovery of any country in the EU post Covid-19; and more people are working in Ireland than ever before. All of this is because of good decisions made by Government," she added.
