Monaghan Hospital played its part in tackling Covid-19 according to its
manager.
The hospital has increasingly been used as a step down and rehabilitation
facility for Cavan Hospital.
Five step down beds recently opened at the hospital and the Department of
Health has confirmed another 18 are expected to open over the coming months.
There have been calls for more use to be made of Monaghan Hospital to
relieve pressure on Cavan Hospital, which covers a large catchment of the
midlands and north east.
