Cavan and Monaghan has the highest percentage of workers in emissions-intensive sectors according to a new study released on green jobs.
The research by the Nevin Economic Research Institute shows that Cavan has the highest percentage in the country at 33 per cent, while Monaghan is followed in 2nd place at 32 per cent. Clare, Longford, and Tipperary all are at 30% in the survey. The figure in Dublin is 13 per cent.
The study 'Measuring Green Jobs' outlines how there are different approaches to defining green jobs. The Northern Sound region ranks highest in the country for emissions-intensive sectors due to the high proportion of people working in agriculture, forestry and fishing.
