Snow and sleet is forecast for Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal as well as for Northern Ireland and the west of the country this week.
Met Eireann has issued a winter weather advisory for the entire country as an Arctic airmass is due. Furthers warnings are expected as temperatures fall below zero from tomorrow night.
Head of Forecasting at Met Eireann, Evelyn Cusack, says it'll be very cold from Wednesday. "It will be just normally cold today and tomorrow.
"On Wednesday night a cold front is going to move over Ireland bringing down some hail sleet and snow showers particularly to Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal and Northern Ireland.
"Some showers will also get into Connaught and down the country as well," she added.
