A Cavan man remains in a serious condition in hospital this morning following a high speed chase in Longford town yesterday.
A Garda was also hospitalised in the incident, with GSOC investigating.
Gardai received reports of a man driving erratically in the town at around 4pm.

As officers approached the vehicle, he fled the scene, hitting a Garda member who was on foot.
Over the course of a pursuit, the man collided with a patrol car, before later crashing into a wall.
The man, understood to be in his 30s and from County Cavan was taken to Tullamore Hospital and is being treated for serious injuries.

The injured Garda was treated for a fracture to his arm, and has since been discharged.
