A local man is encouraging people to sign and carry an organ donor card
following a transplant earlier this year.
Patrick McGovern from Killinkere in Cavan had a liver transplant in July
after being put on the critical list only months previously.
Before the surgery he said he had become so unwell, he was in and out of a
coma and was bed bound, but after the transplant felt almost instantly
better.
Patrick says that the lifesaving surgery was like 'putting in a new
battery'.
