A Cavan local has been awarded the Unsung Hero award at the HCCI Home Care Awards and Conference.
Maria Borza of Mountnugent in County Cavan was recognised for her contribution and work in the community. Maria spent many years working in her family's fast-food businesses in Dublin and ran a children's boutique in Cavan for nine years. She returned to college at 40 and earned her qualification in healthcare, and then began working in a Dublin nursing home. In 2018, Maria joined Irish HomeCare as a tutor, where she guided many Carers through their qualifications and professional development.
