A learner driver has been fined after being found driving without insurance twice in two days.
Gardaí were carrying out a checkpoint in Cootehill on Saturday when the learner driver, who was also driving unaccompanied, was found to be driving a car without insurance.
They claimed they had bought the car that day and it was seized by Gardaí.
It subsequently emerged the driver had another car seized last Thursday when they were found to be driving in similar circumstances.
Gardaí say fines have also been issued.
