The new agriculture Minister, Charlie McConalogue, will need to “hit the ground running” because of the number of problems facing farmers.
That’s the view of Elizabeth Ormiston, the Chair of the IFA Cavan Executive, who lists the TB status of herds, CAP, Brexit, and environmental considerations as some of the issues Deputy McConalogue will have to tackle.
She welcomed the appointment and said the new Minister is a man who understands rural Ireland and will deliver for farmers.
