The number of second hand homes going up for sale is declining, which is causing house prices to rise locally.
That's according to the latest Daft.ie report, which found asking prices nationally are up 3 point 1 per cent in the third quarter of the year.
Cavan has experienced one of the largest increases nationally, jumping 9.9% in the past year with an average price of €239,000. Monaghan also experienced an increase of just over 7%, with the average price now sitting at €248,000. The most expensive homes are in Dublin, at an average of over €463,000
Author of the report, Ronan Lyons says the market is being squeezed by the lack of supply.
