A local Hotelier has warned over 7,500 jobs are at risk in the hospitality sector in the border region.
Ross Mealiff from Cavan’s Hotel Kilmore has called for the Government to take into account the size of a hotel’s function room when limiting the number of guests allowed.
As it stands there’s a limit of 100 people gathering in an indoor space but there are calls for that to increase to allow larger weddings to go ahead.
Ross Mealiff told The Joe Finnegan Show today that with two metres social distancing in place, he could fit over 300 people safely in his function room.
