143 people with Covid-19 were being treated in local hospitals last night.
Cavan General had 22 Covid positive patients, an increase on recent days but not yet as high as October after an outbreak at the facility and a number of clusters in local communities.
It comes as the number of people in hospital across the country with the virus reached 744 today.
Local hospitals have also seen an increase in the number of patients with Covid in recent weeks.
Our Lady of Lourdes in Drogheda and Galway University were treating the most last night, according to the latest HSE figures, with 47 and 43 patients respectively.
Sligo Hospital had 12 Covid patients, Our Lady's Navan had nine, Midland Regional in Mullingar recorded six, with four in Portiuncula in Ballinasloe.
