A new study has revealed that Co. Cavan has one of the lowest solar PV installation rates per capita in Ireland, while Meath has the highest.
EnergyEfficiency.ie research shows Cavan had just over 20 installations per 10,000 people in the first half of 2024, compared to 36 in Meath. In the first six months of this year, there were 166 solar installations in Cavan according to SEAI figures. This equates to 20.3 installations per 10,000 people in the county.
Co. Cavan has the fourth lowest number of installations per capita along with Monaghan and Donegal which are all in the bottom five along with Longford and Dublin Overall there were 13,498 grant assisted solar installations across the country in the first 6 months.
