Four groups in the Shannonside Northern Sound region are celebrating after success in this year's Pride of Place Awards.
The Townspark project in Carrick on Shannon won the overall Best Urban Category award for the efforts being made to develop the area surrounding Breffni Family Resource Centre for the whole community.
Roscommon Gaels GAA All Stars were runner up in the Community Youth-Led initiative,with Kilteevan Tidy Towns also runners up in the Creative Place Category.
There was special recognition for a group set up in Belturbet, Cavan County Local Development Food Emergency Response, which was set up to help distribute food during the Covid emergency.
The all-island Pride of Place Awards was set up 18 years ago by Co-operation Ireland to recognise the work undertaken by volunteers and those involved in community development.
