A Cavan restauranteur is hopeful that responsible cancellations could keep the hospitality sector open into the new year.
Murph’s Bistro in Butlersbridge has reported an average of two cancellations every day for the past two weeks, mostly from tables of up to twenty for planned Christmas parties.
Owner Fergus Murphy says that everyone is saying the virus is the main reason they aren’t meeting up in large numbers, with bookings from single households still remaining popular.
He told Northern Sound that it’s more important his doors remain open, even if that means having fewer bookings.
