Gardaí in Cavan are reminding drone users to be mindful of trespass and privacy laws when flying them.
It comes after they received a report from a member of the public about low flying drones in a housing estate in Virginia town on Tuesday.
Gardaí responded to the report but no drones were observed flying.
It had been suggested the drones were being used to aid dog thefts, but local Gardaí confirmed there's been no reports of dogs being taken from the area.
In a statement to Shannonside Northern Sound News, a garda spokesperson said people need to consider trespass and privacy laws when operating a drone.
