A driver who tried to convince Cavan gardaí their documents were in order now faces court. Cavan Roads Policing Unit were on duty around the county yesterday when they stopped a Renault Scenic car.
An inspection of the vehicle's discs told officers a different story to that of the driver. While the NCT disc showed it expired just 17 days ago on September 21st 2024, closer inspection shows someone doctored the 1 digit on the year 2021 to make it appear like a 4, as in 2024.
Gardaí were not fooled, however, and detained the vehicle. The driver will also have to appear in court over the offence.
