The Cavan Roads Policing Unit recently ran multiple units on Cavan roads.
One unit had attended an RTC involving a HGV and cars in the Kilcogy area and conducted mandatory intoxicated checkpoints in Shercock and Kingscourt. Another motor bike unit was on the N3 conducting speed checks, issued fixed charge penalty notices to four drivers.
According to Gardai, another motorist drove by their high visible marked unit whilst texting on their mobile phone. When stopped investigations showed the insurance policy had been cancelled. FCPNs were also issued to other drivers for driving unaccompanied and mobile phone offences.
