Gardai in Cavan have issued a warning this morning over unsolicited text messages and emails.
It follows a nunber of complaints in recent days over efforts by fraudsters to scam money from legitimate bank accounts.
A series of text messages pertaining to be from Bank of Ireland have been sent advising receipents that money has been removed from their account and to click on a link so the matter can be resolved.
Gardai said that fraudsters will go "to any length" to steal people's money and any suspicious activity should be reported to them.
They are also advising the public not to click on links contained in unsolicited tests and to never part with their personal information online.
