Cavan Gardai detected a driver on the N3 traveling at 167kmph in a 100kmph zone on Friday evening.
The driver was an unaccompanied learner permit holder and only had his licence for three days, he also no L plates on display and no valid NCT.
The driver also was holding his phone while travelling 67 kilometers over the speed limit.
In a separate incident yesterday a motorist was detected travelling at 160kmph in a 100kmph zone between Belturbet and Butlersbridge, the driver was also a learner driver.
In both incidents the vehicles were taken off the road and court proceeding will follow.
The Cavan Roads Policing Unit are using these detections to remind road users to keep within the speed limits at all times and use best practice when using the roads at all times.
