Gardai investigating the assault on one of its members at Loughan, Blacklion last weekend are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
29-year-old Garda Padraig Scott had a gun pointed at him and was attacked and doused in petrol in the incident which happened at 2am last Monday morning.
Anyone that was travelling on the N16 passing Loughan House Prison or in the general area between 7pm on Sunday 27th February and 3am on Monday the 28th February who say anything “suspicious” should contact Gardai in Cavan.
“We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have dash cam footage,” a Garda spokesperson added.
“Any information that can assist in any way can be provided to Cavan Garda Station on 049 4368800 or the Garda Confidential Number 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
