Because of Russia's invasion of the Ukraine, crude oil prices have shot to over $100 a barrel.
Philip Kiernan of Kiernan's Texaco in Cavan town told the JF show this morning that when he received a delivery last Friday he got the "shock of his life".
He said he saw clearly the impact of the invasion because prices had increased by 11c per litre since his last delivery.
Philip said that in his 22 years in business, he has never seen anything like it.
He added, fuel prices will continue to be "volatile" because of the war.
