Chloe says it is a 'positive thing' to see changes already happening.

A Co Cavan family who have been impacted by suicide say they are "determined" to make changes when it comes to anti-bulling policies in schools. Chloe Heaslip and her family set up 'Be Buddies Not Bullies' in memory of her brother Eden who died by suicide in September 2021 after he was subjected to a sustained campaign of bullying. Speaking on this morning's Joe Finnegan Show, Chloe said the 'Be Buddies Not Bullies' campaign is the backbone of how they as a family cope with their grief.

Chloe also welcomed new legislation introduced by the Department of Education which will see the filing of all bullying reports become "mandatory" across schools. Chloe said that "change" is emerging right across the country, and that her family will continue in their efforts to keep Eden's memory alive and ensure that he will never be forgotten.

"Our campaign is honestly the backbone of how we cope with our grief and without it I don't know how we'd survive really," said Chloe. "It's given us the determination to make change and we know Eden is right behind us urging us all on basically. We're all very committed to making change and to ensure that Eden's memory will never be forgotten, that everyone will know his name and what type of person he was."
