A driver was apprehended in Co. Cavan recently when a vehicle turned on the road to avoid a Garda checkpoint.
Cavan Roads Policing Unit officers carrying out the checkpoint in Kingscourt over the Christmas break subsequently stopped the vehicle.
A roadside drugs test proved the driver was driving under the influence of three different types of drugs.

The oral fluid test showed the driver tested positive for cocaine, cannabis and opiates.
The motorist was arrested and has been charged to court at a later date.
